Back in 1920 when we started making our delicious homestyle candies, it wasn't so unusual to take the time to do things right. So when our founders started experimenting with ways to use the fruit they grew at Liberty Orchards in their old country candy recipe, they naturally did things the homestyle way. What is unusual, is that now, over 80 years later, we still make our candies by the same time honored methods, using the same secret family recipe.

The ingredients used in our candies are wholesome and traditional. We use natural fruit purées and juices, created from the ripest, most flavorful fruits for orchard-grown goodness in every bite. These fruits of the orchard are blended with apple pectin, pure sugar, and other natural, preservative-free ingredients, then slow-simmered in special candymaking kettles. We make our candy in small batches, and test the recipe every few minutes as the candy cooks. When the consistency is just right, we add fresh crunchy nuts, hand-sorted for exceptional quality.

After cooking, the candy is then poured into old-fashioned wooden racks to cool overnight. We don't rush the process with artificial setting agents, because we think the best flavor is worth the time. The next day, the candies are cut and dusted with finely powdered sugar, hand-packed with care, and packaged to fulfill our customers orders with the freshest candy possible.
